How to use the website sections made for your kind of business
Start from a whole site written for your kind of business, add sections made for it, and let price lists and booking buttons keep themselves up to date.

The website builder knows what kind of business you run. It offers a whole starting site written for it, puts the sections made for your trade first, and has live sections that Otto fills in from your own records each time someone opens the page. For setting up the site, domain and email, see how to set up your website.
Start from a site made for your business
- Open Growth → Website and go to the Design step.
- Under Build it yourself, press Choose a layout.
- Under Pick a starting layout, the first card is the set made for your kind of business, with every page it builds listed on it. The general layouts follow.
- Press Use this layout.

Otto builds all the pages at once, with a menu linking them and your business name and description on the home page. Every word, section and color can be changed once it opens.
The sets are:
- Mobile or on-site services: On-site services site — Home, Services, Our work and Contact, with the areas you cover and a quote button throughout.
- Trades and home services: Trades site — Home, Services, Our work, About and Contact, with a licensed-and-insured section and an emergency call-out.
- Health, beauty or wellness: Salon or studio site — Home, Services, Team, Policies and Contact, with Book buttons.
- Shop, café or restaurant: Café or shop site — Home with the menu and hours, then Menu, Events and Contact.
- Online store: Online store site — Home with featured products, then Shipping & returns and Contact.
- Legal, accounting or finance: Practice site — Home, Practice areas, About and Contact, with a consultation button.
- Agency or studio: Studio site — Home, Work, Packages, About and Contact.
- Services or consulting: Services site — Home, Services, Packages, About and Contact.
- Property: Property site — Home, Available, Tenants and Contact, with a Report a repair button.
- Short-term rentals: Short-term rental site — Home, Stays, House rules, Owners and Contact.
- Non-profit or community: Non-profit site — Home with your impact, then Get involved, Events and Contact.
Add a section made for your trade
In the editor, Add a section lists the sections for your kind of business first, under For and your kind of business, then the general ones, then More sections made for other kinds. Press one and it goes in after the section you have selected, or at the end.
Some examples: Service areas, Get a quote, Licensed & insured, Emergency call-out and Before and after for trades and on-site work; Services & prices with Book, Meet the team, Opening hours and Policies for salons and studios; Menu and Catering & private hire for cafés; Available units and Report a repair for property.
Live sections that keep themselves up to date
A live section is filled in by Otto from your records each time the page is opened, so it stays current without publishing again. In the editor it shows as a dashed box saying "Filled in by Otto when the page is shown".
- Price list (from Otto): the active services on your price list, with their prices and descriptions.
- Service plans (from Otto): the service plans you still offer, with price and visits. Needs service plans switched on.
- Book online button: a Book online button to your booking page, shown only while booking is switched on and has times to offer. Any Book link in a section made for your kind of business goes to your booking page too.
- Form button (from Otto): a button to your first form from Forms & QR, labeled with the form's title.
- Where you work (from Settings): the area you cover, from Settings. A business that sells online, everywhere, shows nothing here.
- Featured products: up to eight active products from your connected store.
When there is nothing to show (no services yet, booking switched off) a live section is left off the published page rather than shown empty.
What Otto's designer puts in
When you press Design three options instead, Otto's designer is told what a site for your kind of business must carry, beside what you wrote in the brief. For example: for on-site services, a click-to-call phone number in the header, the areas you cover and a Get a quote button on every page; for a salon, a Book button beside the services, the prices and the cancellation policy; for property, what is available now and how a tenant reports a repair. The designer may also place the live price list, booking button and service areas.
If it doesn't work
- Your kind of business has no set of its own on Pick a starting layout: choose one of the general layouts and add the sections you need from Add a section.
- A live section is missing from the published site: it has nothing to show yet. Add services to your price list, switch booking on, or make a form, and it appears without publishing again.
- Contact is grayed out with "This page already has the contact form": a page has one contact form.
