How to track affiliates and the customers they send
Add the partners who refer customers to you, record their referrals, and see what you owe and have paid them.

Affiliates keeps the people and businesses who send customers your way: an agency, a supplier, a friend or a client who refers others. Each partner gets their own referral code and form address. It is under Growth → Affiliates.
Add a partner
- Open Affiliates and press Add partner.
- Type their Name and Email, and choose the Kind: Agency, Client referral, Friend, Supplier or Other… (in your own words).
- Choose How they are paid: a Fixed amount per referral, a Percent of each sale, or Your own words, for example "a free service each spring". Write down What you agreed.
- Press Save. They get their own referral code and form address.
Record a referral
- Open the partner and use Find a contact they referred. Type a name and pick the person from your contacts.
- Set the referral to Lead, Won or Lost, and fill in what the job is Worth ($) and what is Owed ($) to the partner for it.
- When you pay the partner, press Mark paid. Undo puts it back.
Referrals can also arrive on their own. Their referral address is a form address the partner can put on their own website: someone who fills it in lands in your contacts, already credited to that partner. Press Copy to send it to them.
What you see
- Active partners, Referrals this quarter, Won and its total worth.
- Owed, Paid and Still owed, with Paid, of everything owed to partners.
- Referrals by partner and Referrals a week, last eight weeks.
Good to know
- To stop a partner's form for a while, set them to Paused: their form address is closed while paused. Set them Active again to reopen it.
- A contact can be credited to only one partner.
- What arrives through a partner's form is kept as plain information and never read by Otto's AI.
If it doesn't work
- "Nobody in Contacts matches that. Add them there first."
- "… is already down as a referral from …" — that contact is credited to another partner.
- "A partner needs a name." / "That is not an amount of money."
- "Too many today. Try again tomorrow." — a partner's form has taken its most for the day.
