Pledges
A pledge is a promise to give. Open Giving, then Pledges, and press New pledge. Choose the donor, the schedule (once, monthly, quarterly or yearly) and the start date. For a one-off pledge type the total; for a recurring one, type the amount each time and the number of installments. Otto works out the installments and their due dates.
Each installment shows as its due date and amount. When one comes in, press it to mark it paid: the gift is recorded for that amount. A behind installment is shown in red. An installment unpaid more than 14 days after it was due is behind. The Pledges tab counts those, and Opportunities lists them. Nothing is charged automatically: card payments are not switched on.
Campaigns
A campaign gathers gifts toward a goal, such as a winter appeal or a new roof.
- Open Campaigns and press New campaign. Only someone who manages can add one.
- Type a name, the goal and, optionally, the day it ends.
- Press Save.
Pick the campaign when you record a gift and it counts toward the goal. Each campaign shows what has been raised against the goal and how many donors gave.
Switch on Public page and press Copy link to share the campaign. The page shows the goal, a progress bar and the names of donors who did not ask to stay anonymous, never with an amount beside a name. Visitors can make a pledge there: no payment is taken, and you are told so you can follow up. A pledge from the page shows in Pledges, and the person is added to your supporters if they are new.
A campaign ending within 14 days that is under three quarters of its goal shows in Opportunities.
