How to ask Otto about the page you are on
Use the round Otto button in the corner of every page, and hide it in Settings → Account if you prefer.

Otto Assistant is the round Otto button at the bottom right of every page. It lets you ask about what is in front of you, such as "which of these invoices is oldest?" on Invoices, without leaving the page for Otto chat. Everyone signed in has it.
Ask a question
- Hover over or press the Otto circle in the bottom-right corner. A box slides out: "Ask about what is on this page."
- Type your question in Ask Otto about this page… and press Enter.
- The answer appears in a small card above the circle. Keep asking in the same card.
- Press Go to chat to carry on in Otto chat, where the conversation is saved like any other. Press the new-conversation button to start again, or close the card.
While Otto is answering, you can stop it.
What Otto sees
Each question carries what is on your screen at that moment: the page's address, its heading and its words. Otto reads that for your one question and does not store it. Otto only sees what your position lets you see.
Hide the circle
- Open Settings and choose Account (under You).
- Under Otto Assistant, switch off Show Otto Assistant.
You will see "Otto Assistant is hidden. Otto chat is still in the menu." Switch it back on to bring it back to the corner.
The choice is yours alone: it applies to you on every device and in every business you belong to, and it does not change what anyone else sees. Otto chat in the menu is not affected.
If it doesn't work
- "Type a question first" — the send button stays off until there is a question.
- "Wait for Otto to finish first" — a new conversation can start once Otto has answered.
- "That didn't go through." — send the question again.
- "This setting could not be read" — reload Settings and try the switch again.
