How to plan stock from what sells

Store → Stock plan shows how fast each item sells, how many days it will last, and how many to order. Store → Profit shows profit per order.

Updated 2026-10-25

The Stock plan works from what sold in the last 60 days: your store orders plus Stock's own sold and used rows.

Where

Store → Stock plan and Store → Profit. The Stock plan needs Stock switched on.

Read the plan

  • Sold a week and Days left come from the last 60 days of sales.
  • Suggest ordering is enough to last the lead time plus your cover period, in whole units, less what you have. It is never less than the supplier's minimum order.
  • Runs out before more arrives means there is less than the lead time left. Not selling means it has stock but sold nothing in 60 days; the worth of that stock at cost is shown to positions that see money. Overstocked means more than 180 days' worth.

Set lead times and minimum orders

  1. Type your usual Lead and Cover days above the table and press Save.
  2. Press an item to set its own supplier Lead time and Minimum order. Leave either blank to use your default or to have no minimum.

Profit per order

  1. Open Store → Profit. Each order shows its total, what its items cost and the profit.
  2. Under Channel fees, enter the percentage and the amount per order each channel takes, then press Save fees. The order details Otto reads do not include these fees, so profit uses your figures as an estimate.

Good to know

  • Item cost is the cost set on each Stock item. A purchase list with prices and freight keeps it at the landed cost.
  • An order whose item has no cost, or whose currency is not yours, shows why instead of a profit.
  • Shipping you pay for, refunds and ad spend are not taken off.
  • Profit and fees are shown only to positions that see money.
