How to sell service plans and memberships

Make a plan with a monthly or yearly price and visits included, enroll customers on it, and see who renews soon.

Updated 2026-10-18

A service plan is a membership: a price each month or year, with a number of visits included, such as "Gold care, $49 a month, one maintenance wash each month". Enrolling a customer puts their visits on the calendar and drafts their invoice each period for you to send.

It is under Work → Service plans. (If it is not in the menu, switch it on under Settings → What you use.) Only someone who manages the business can make plans and enroll customers.

Make a plan

  1. Press New plan.
  2. Give it a Name, for example "Gold care", and a Price.
  3. Under Every, choose Month or Year.
  4. Choose the Visits included: up to 4 each month, or up to 12 each year, or None.
  5. If it has visits, give the Visit job title, for example "Maintenance visit". Each visit is a job with that title.
  6. Add any Perks, for example "10% off repairs, priority booking". They are shown on the plan.
  7. Press Save.

Your plans are on the Plans tab, each with its price, the visits it includes and its perks. Press Archive on a plan you no longer sell: it is no longer offered when you enroll someone, and customers already on it stay on it. Bring back offers it again.

Enroll a customer

  1. Press Enroll a customer. (It waits until you have made a plan.)
  2. Pick the Customer and the Plan.
  3. Choose the day it Starts: today or later.
  4. Press Enroll.

The line above the button says what happens: the plan's visits go on the calendar, and an invoice is drafted each month or year for you to approve. The visits are an ordinary repeating job (see how to set up repeating jobs) and the invoice an ordinary recurring invoice (see how to set up a recurring invoice). Each draft waits in Reviews for you to send.

See your members

The Members tab lists every member with their Plan, Status, Next visit and when it Renews. Across the top you see how many are Active and Paused, and how many are Renewing within two weeks.

Service plans: active and paused members, renewals due and each member's next visit

A membership renews on the anniversary of its start, each month or year. When some renew within two weeks, Otto points it out, since a quick call before the renewal keeps them.

Press a member to see their price, start, renewal and next visit, and to change the membership:

  • Pause stops the visits and the invoice until you press Resume.
  • Cancel membership ends both. Visits still to come and the repeating invoice stop. A cancelled membership cannot be started again; enroll them again instead.

Good to know

  • Invoices are drafted each period and wait in Reviews for you to send. Card billing that takes the money by itself starts once online payments are live.
  • A business can have up to 40 plans and 500 members.

If it doesn't work

  • "Give it a name and a price" — Save waits for both.
  • "Visits per period: up to 4 a month or 12 a year."
  • "A membership starts today or later."
  • "Jordan Lee is already on Gold care." — a customer can be on a plan once.
  • "This membership is cancelled. Enroll them again instead."
