How to move from GoHighLevel

Settings → Tools → Move from GoHighLevel. Bring over your contacts, pipeline and price list from HighLevel's CSV exports, have Otto rebuild your workflows, and set up the rest here.

Updated 2026-10-28

Moving from GoHighLevel (HighLevel) takes one page. Nothing changes in HighLevel until you cancel it there, so you can run both while you check everything came across. Only an owner or admin can bring over the pipeline.

Where

Your name at the bottom of the menu → Settings → Tools → Move from GoHighLevel → Open.

Steps

  1. Your contacts. In HighLevel, open Contacts, show the columns you want to keep (tags, source, business name and your custom fields), select everyone and export them as a CSV file. Under Bring in the contacts file, pick Customers, choose the file, read the preview and press Bring over.
    • First and last names, emails, phones, business names, tags and source come across.
    • Every other column is kept on each contact under its own name, e.g. "Roof Type: Metal".
    • Contacts already here are not added twice.
  2. Your pipeline. In HighLevel, export your opportunities as a CSV file. Under Bring in the opportunities file, pick Pipeline deals and bring it over.
    • Each contact gets the stage, value and owner of their latest opportunity.
    • A stage you don't have yet is added to your sales stages. Won and lost deals are tagged won or lost.
    • People in this file who aren't in your contacts yet are added.
    • A deal's value is kept only when your position sees money.
  3. What you sell. A file with a name and a price on each row becomes your price list.
  4. Your automations. HighLevel can't export its workflows. Open each one in HighLevel and type what it does, what starts it and what it sends, then press Build it here. Read what Otto built and press Save it, switched off. Switch each on in Automations when you're ready.
  5. The rest. The page links to where each is set up here: forwarding your phone number to your Otto line, your website, online booking, forms and email from your own domain.

What doesn't come over

  • Text and email conversation history. HighLevel's export has the people, not the messages.
  • Workflow history, funnel pages, course content and memberships.
  • Who agreed to marketing. The export doesn't say, so nobody is marked as agreeing until they do here.

For agencies

Moving several clients? Make each one a client account under Reseller mode, open it, and do these steps there.

If it doesn't work

  • "That file has no column for the stage": the opportunities file needs a stage column. Show it in HighLevel before you export.
  • "Your position cannot change the sales stages": ask an owner or admin to bring the pipeline over.
  • A column was left out: open Column names on the import to see which column names Otto reads for each field.
