How to pay commission on products sold
Team → Pay → a person's plan → Retail commission. Pay a percent of the products someone sells, apart from commission on services.
Updated 2026-10-25
Pay retail commission separately from service commission, e.g. 10% of the shampoo and styling products a stylist sells, on top of 5% of their service sales. It is worked out in the pay run like the rest of pay, and needs Stock: a sale counts when it is recorded with Sell in Stock.
Where
Team → the Pay tab → How each person is paid. A position's plan is set the same way under Team → Positions.
Steps
- Open the person (or the position) and switch on Retail commission.
- Type the percent, e.g. 10.
- Press Save.
- Give each product a sell price in Stock → Items.
- When the person sells a product, they record it in Stock with Sell, signed in as themselves.
What happens next
The pay run has a line Commission on products sold: the percent of what they sold in the period, at each item's sell price when it was sold. Press Show the … behind it to see each sale. A later price change does not change a sale already recorded.
Good to know
- A sale is credited to whoever recorded it with Sell.
- A sale that was reversed in Stock is left out.
- A product with no sell price earns nothing, and the line says how many sales had none.
- In the payroll file for an approved run, retail commission goes in the commission column, beside commission on services.
