How to make a demo agent for a prospect
On an agency's contact card, Make a demo, type the prospect's website, then copy the private link. It answers from their site for 14 days.

A demo agent is a chat assistant made from a prospect's own website, so you can show them what a website assistant would say to their visitors. It is for agency businesses.
Where
Contacts, open the prospect, then Demo agent on their card.
Steps
- Press Make a demo. Their website is filled in from their email address when it is a business address; change it if needed.
- Press Read site and make demo. Otto reads their home page and up to three more pages of the same site, and keeps the words of those pages.
- Press Copy link and send it to the prospect yourself, e.g. in your own email. Otto sends it to nobody.
What happens next
The link opens a page headed "A demo for" the prospect "by" your business. Anyone with the link can type a question the way a visitor would and get an answer drawn only from the pages Otto read. When the answer is not on their site, or the visitor wants to book or order, it says that in the live version the visitor would leave their name and email for the business.
On the card each demo shows how many times it was opened, how many answers it has given, and when it ends. Opening the link yourself counts as an open too.
Good to know
- The link works for 14 days, then shows "This demo is not available". Extend 14 days brings an expired demo back. Switch off stops it at once; Delete removes it.
- Each demo gives at most 40 answers in all and 20 a day, a visitor at most 15 a day, and all your demos together at most 200 a day.
- Every answer uses your business's AI allowance. If the allowance is used up the demo says it can't answer right now, and nothing is counted.
- Otto reads only public websites. It never reads an address on a private network, and it skips pages the site asks automated readers to stay out of.
- What visitors type is not kept.
- Up to 10 demos per contact.
If it doesn't work
- "Otto could not read that site" with a reason, e.g. "is not on the public internet" or "has no text Otto can read": the site may be drawn entirely by scripts. Try another address of theirs.
- "That is not a public website address." Type it like theirbusiness.com.
- A visitor sees "This demo has given all the answers it can." or "answered all it can today": make a new demo, or wait for tomorrow.
